Centre for Global Linguistics

The Centre for Global Linguistics is dedicated to nurturing global citizens through the power of language. We offer Japanese, German, French, and Spanish as part of the first-year B.Tech and MBA curriculum, alongside short-term Summer/Winter Schools and our flagship Lingua Connect Global Certification Program. By combining language proficiency with cultural understanding, we prepare students to thrive in international academic, professional, and social spaces.

Lingua Connect Global Certificate Course

Our flagship Lingua Connect Global Certification Program provides structured certificate courses in Japanese, German, French, and Spanish. Aligned with international standards, each level equips learners with strong linguistic skills, cultural insights, and preparation for globally recognized certification—opening doors to higher education, international mobility, and diverse career opportunities.

Here is the level-wise framework of languages, we offer in this global certification course

Japanese

N5 (Beginner / Foundation):
• Recognize and use basic Japanese characters (Hiragana & Katakana and Kanji).
• Introduce yourself, greet others, and talk about everyday routines.
• Understand simple classroom instructions and short, familiar expressions.

N4 (Elementary):
• Read short texts with Kanji (basic set).
• Communicate about shopping, travel, food, and hobbies.
• Write simple sentences and personal notes.

N3 (Intermediate):
• Understand the main points of conversations in daily contexts.
• Express opinions and narrate past experiences.
• Read intermediate-level texts (stories, articles) and write descriptive passages.

German Language

A1 (Beginner / Foundation):
• Introduce yourself, ask and answer simple questions.
• Understand basic phrases related to family, studies, and surroundings.
• Read and write short texts like emails or notes.

A2 (Elementary):
• Engage in simple conversations on familiar topics.
• Express likes/dislikes, preferences, and daily needs.
• Understand short messages, menus, advertisements.

B1 (Intermediate):
• Understand the main ideas of clear, standard speech and text.
• Talk about future plans, experiences, and opinions.
• Write coherent texts on familiar topics (letters, essays).

French Language

A1 (Beginner / Foundation):
• Use simple greetings and everyday expressions.
• Ask and answer questions about yourself and surroundings.
• Understand very short texts (signs, menus, timetables).

A2 (Elementary):
• Describe your background, environment, and daily routine.
• Communicate in simple tasks like ordering food, shopping, travel.
• Read and write short, simple texts (messages, notes).

B1 (Intermediate):
• Understand the main points of familiar topics at school, work, leisure.
• Give reasons, explanations, and express opinions.
• Write connected text on topics of interest, such as essays or reports.

Spanish Language

A1 (Beginner / Foundation):
• Introduce yourself and others; ask/answer simple personal questions.
• Understand familiar expressions and everyday vocabulary.
• Write short sentences and fill basic forms.

A2 (Elementary):

For First-Year Students: A Gentle Introduction

In your very first year, you can begin exploring Japanese through our Introductory Japanese Language Course—a thoughtfully designed experience that welcomes complete beginners. Learn how to greet, introduce yourself, and hold simple conversations. Learn to read and write in Hiragana, Katakana and basic Kanji, and discover how the language reflects the harmony and structure of Japanese culture itself. A Taste of Japan: 10-Day Summer Immersion

If you’re looking for a short but unforgettable dive, join our 10-Day Japanese Summer School. It’s an experience unlike any other—where the classroom feels like a journey. For students who wish to deepen their journey, we offer Japanese Language Certification Courses for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students. Here, you’ll go beyond the basics and enter the upper-basic level, building stronger fluency and confidence in both spoken and written Japanese. French Language

Learning a foreign language empowers students to stand out in a dynamic job market and adapt to multicultural work environments. CGL offers a French Certificate Course and Summer/Winter School Programs aligned with the internationally recognized Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Students prepare systematically, progressing through CEFR levels (A1 to B2), and are encouraged to appear for the DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) examinations conducted by the French Ministry of Education.

To enrich the learning experience, French Language Experts frequently visit the campus to deliver guest lectures, sharing insights on language, culture, and global opportunities. The Centre also organizes the celebration of French festivals, immersing students in Francophone culture and enhancing intercultural understanding.

Spanish Language
