Chancellor's Fellowship Announcements
The University offers attractive Chancellor's Fellowship to support full-time PhD scholars across disciplines, with enhanced support for high-performing researchers.
- ₹60,000/ ₹80,000/ ₹1,00,000/ ₹1,20,000 per month in Computer Science & Engineering and Allied domains for scholars with strong coding skills and demonstrated expertise in AI/ML applications.
- ₹40,000/ ₹45,000/ ₹50,000/ ₹55,000 per month in Engineering & Technology for scholars with strong technical fundamentals and demonstrated expertise in core and emerging engineering applications.
- ₹35,000/ ₹40,000/ ₹45,000/ ₹50,000 per month in Applied Sciences, Humanities, Management, and Pharmacy for scholars with strong domain knowledge and demonstrated research aptitude in their respective disciplines.
- The Scholarship stipend will be based on Merit in Entrance Test and Exam and upon the recommendation from panel.
- Selected candidates will also be engaged in an 8-hour per week teaching load within their respective department.
- The candidate shall deposit an amount equivalent to the first two months’ assistantship and scholarship as security with the University, which may be fulfilled by any one of the following methods:
(i) depositing the first two months’ salary at the time of admission;
(ii) forgoing the assistantship and scholarship for the first two months; or
(iii) depositing 50% of the monthly assistantship and scholarship for four consecutive months.
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. Admission
Post-Graduate Entry: Minimum 60% marks in Master's for General/OBC; 55% marks for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/Differently-Abled.
Under-Graduate Entry (After 4-year B.Tech): Minimum 75% marks for General/OBC; 70% marks for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/Differently-Abled.
Special 5% Relaxation available for:
- National/International Sports participants.
- Retired and serving employees from Indian defence forces.
- Children of Padma Award or Bravery Award winners.
- Children of Indian Defense forces & North East state residents.
- Children without parents or Single Girl Child.
- KIET Alumni and Employees and their spouses.
Selection Process
- Admission Path: Based on merit rank in Doctoral Program Entrance Test (DPET) followed by an Interview.
- Written Test Exemption: Candidates with NET / SET / SLET / GATE qualifications are exempt from the written test.

- In addition to the above, the student shall be required to pay the one-time fees as prescribed by the university towards Thesis Submission, Final Ph.D. Viva-Voce, Convocation, and Alumni Charges.
- In case a student fails to adhere to the University’s Ph.D. rules, regulations, and guidelines, the student shall be liable to bear the associated costs.
- Tuition fees may be relaxed by up to 10% for Specially abled candidates, National and International Sports participants, Children of Padma Awards, Winners of bravery awards, Children of Indian Defence forces, Resident of North east states, siblings, alumni, Employees and family members of KIET employees.
KIET Research Point System
The scholar is required to earn a minimum of 16 research points for the final submission of the thesis.
